DVD Synopsis and information: An excellent Horror shocker with a great story and makeup effects. Maggie, played by Jill Schoelen, is a young and energetic film student who has been religiously recording her night terrors filled with long haired hairy hippie with a dagger, trussed maiden played on an altar, a terrified
child running through flames only to see them all unfold on screen when a
60s psycho cult film. The Possessor, is discovered by fellow students
preparing a fundraising horror movie fest at an abandoned art deco movie theater
called Dreamland. It seems that the Possessor's Director was a psychotic madman
who killed his spouse while on stage and then burned down the entire theater only after
locking the audience inside. Did he died in the fire? Or maybe he
did not. Or just maybe, he is back. That is the primary mystery and one that
becomes crucial as Maggie's fellow film compatriots start dropping off and fading to dark black
before their time.
Cool makeup effects and genuine scares make this a real horror treat. This is a really cool horror movie with a total 80s vibe. Lots of things for 80s horror fans to sink their teeth into with this one. Popcorn DVD 1991 is a terrific early 90s horror film and is great fun with lots of good gags and effects.
