DVD Synopsis and information:
The film Pretty Baby features the Internationally acclaimed director Louis Malle taking on the forbidden issue of child prostitution. The atmosphere created in Pretty Baby DVD is dreamy while the film is about humanity and beauty in a most extreme situation. E.J Bellocq (played by Keith Carradine) is a photographer in 1917 obsessed with the professional women of the night in New Orleans Red Light district. Violet (played by the then 12 year old Brooke Shields), is a young girl who completely bewitches Bellocq with her girl like curiosity and naive manner. The Director Malle confronts head on the treatment of this controversial and difficult topic with a very even hand. Performances by the entire cast are outstanding and Susan Sarandon as Violet's brothel mother make Pretty Baby a must own for any serious film collector.

Pretty Baby 1978 DVD is an excellent look at a taboo subject and features great direction and acting performance from the cast's lead members.
